Accountability for moderately complex accounting activities including reconciling accounts and developing financial statements and reports. Perform general accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards.

Job Description

  • Assist in month end close process, including preparation of journal entries.
  • Continually evaluates new and existing systems to enhance reporting efficiencies.
  • Perform assigned account reconciliations including accruals and provisions.
  • Research advanced accounting issues, identify possible solutions, and summarize conclusions to present to Management.
  • Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations.
  • Perform consolidation accounting and related intercompany eliminations.
  • Prepare accurate and timely quarterly consolidated statutory reporting packages.
  • Prepare annual audit report including balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, statement of equity, and notes.
  • Complete various government surveys.
  • Special reporting and analytical projects as needed or requested by Accounting or other departments.
  • Always acts in a professional and courteous manner, representing UCA's highest standards of business conduct; exhibits a positive attitude, sharing information with co-workers as appropriate and works to promote a cooperative, productive teamwork environment.
  • An expert on the job, makes the most of knowledge and experience and works to learn new duties; assists with training of others; and adapts to changed conditions quickly and easily.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and a minimum of 5 years of similar accounting experience.
  • Understanding of accounting principles.
  • Detail oriented, self-directed, highly motivated professional with a positive attitude and effective problem solving and multi-tasking skills.

Technical Skills:

  • Must have advanced Microsoft Excel and intermediate PowerPoint and Access skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
